About Us

Although our business partnership, and Out of the Woods, was only created 7
years ago, our marriage partnership began in 1967. As Junior High School and
High School sweethearts, we seemed destined to have a long time partnership.

Because we married young, and had our two daughters early in our marriage,
our creativity is what provided us with furniture and even gifts when we
needed them, even when money was low. I would sew clothes for both the girls
and also for myself. We were always coming up with creative gifts to give
family and friends for Christmas and birthdays. Dennis built many a
bookcase, coffee table or even a waterbed when needed for the girls as they
were growing up. He even made a dining room table and chairs for us once.

When we either outgrew, or decided our tastes had changed on the furniture,
there was always a friend or neighbor standing in line waiting for us to sell
a piece.

So, as we began to look at our retirement years, and what we could do to keep
busy and make a little extra money, we thought we would start our own custom
furniture company. Well, things snowballed! We began making woodcrafts, and
stitcheries, and dolls. We started selling them locally, then took them on
the road to sell wholesale. And even jumped right into the internet as soon
as it was beginning to be a popular sales tool. We have been on line now for
nearly 6 years.

Our retirement business caused me to give up my full time job and work our
business 100%. We haven't retired yet. We probably won't even think of it
for another 10 or 20 years.

So welcome to Out of the Woods. Because we are a small company, we pride
ourselves on personal service. So if we can make your shopping experience
